Raleigh entrepreneurs pitch ‘pawsome’ products on ‘Shark Tank’

Two Raleigh entrepreneurs have been very good boys, and they got the chance to prove it by pitting their dog treat startup against other teams on ABC’s “Shark Tank.”

Zookies Cookies, co-founded by Justin Miller and Tom Simon, sells bake-at-home, organic dog treat mixes in flavors like “Peanut Barker” and “Cocomutt.” The dog-loving duo entered the tank and walked out with a $50,000 investment from Alli Webb, founder of Drybar.

“I think the pet space is on fire,” Webb said. “People are obsessed with their dogs and they would buy something like this, 100 percent.”
