Outdoor Drama Honors Cherokee Heritage

by

North Carolina is the birthplace of the American Outdoor Drama. One of the most enthralling is “Unto These Hills” staged at the Mountainside Theatre in Cherokee.

The epic play tells the story of the Cherokee people from 1780 to the 20th century. Facing hardships, betrayal and disappointments, the Cherokees cling to their heritage and pride.

“Unto These Hills” has been seen by more than 6 million people since 1950. In 2015 it received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence. This year the show runs June 3 to August 19. More information and a short video are at http://bit.ly/1nLdA97.
