North Carolina’s top beer city

by

There’s a city in North Carolina with more breweries per capita than any other in the U.S. If you said Charlotte or Raleigh, you’d be wrong.

For the second year in a row, Asheville was named the top U.S. city for beer drinkers. Home to 25 microbreweries and dozens of beer-serving bars and restaurants, Asheville beat out 300 cities to claim the title. The only other NC city in the top 25 is Wilmington.

Asheville edged out Portland, Maine, Duluth, Minnesota, and Cincinnati. Long known for travel and tourism, Asheville can now add beer to the list.
