Due to the state’s stellar job recruitment performance in 2017, North Carolina has received a 2018 Gold Shovel Award for economic development from Area Development magazine.
Adding to North Carolina’s impressive repertoire of accolades – including being named a top competitive state by Site Selection and earning the number one spot on Forbes’ “Best States for Business” list – the Gold Shovel recognizes states with the most impressive job growth and investment projects.
North Carolina posted impressive 2017 numbers in terms of development, including 150 projects, the expected creation of over 20,000 new jobs and $4.14 billion in new investment.
