Look around any mid-sized or larger city, and you’ll notice changes in how people get themselves from point A to point B. Ride-hailing, car rental subscriptions, bike shares and motorized scooter shares are prime examples of changes in mobility.
Look for automakers, like the Ford Motor Company, to begin to respond to these changes. Ford announced its intention to buy Spin, a San Francisco-based scooter sharing company.
Spin scooters are available in 13 U.S. cities and college campuses in states, including California, Florida, Michigan, Alabama and Kentucky. Ford plans to expand Spin’s footprint to 100 locations.
