Currituck County Celebrating Heritage With Bulls & BBQ

by

Currituck County is hosting its first annual Bulls & BBQ Festival September 17, featuring bull riding, a BBQ cook-off, antique tractors, food vendors, live music and children’s activities.

The event will be held at Currituck County Rural Center, a rural setting on the water surrounded by nature trails, with access to the sound for boaters, an equestrian park and fishing ponds.

The NC BBQ Championship Cook-off, sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ society, includes 20 teams competing to win an invitation to Jack Daniel’s World Championship Cook-off. Teams are still being accepted; find the application and details here.
