While the proud new bearer of the green jacket at The Masters golf tournament changes every year, the top food award always goes to the same contender – the pimento cheese sandwich.
You can buy the sandwich for $1.50, but the recipe isn’t so easily attained. After the vendor was replaced a few years ago, he refused to share it. The new vendors recreated it and now it’s like the recipe for Coke – locked away.
Several people have tried to recreate that tantalizing mixture of mayo, cheese and pimentos. Folks at theteesheet.com seem to have found the closest recipe.
