Jazz legend John Coltrane was born in Hamlet but learned to play the saxophone while growing up in High Point. Today the John Coltrane International Jazz and Blues Festival brings top performers in both genres to High Point to celebrate his musical legacy.

The 7th annual festival, scheduled for September 2-3 in Oak Hollow Festival Park, will feature such artists as Gerald Albright, Jonathan Butler, Eddie Palmieri, Special EFX, Spyro Gyra, Branford Marsalis, Joey Calderazzo, Robert Randolph, Matthew Whitaker and Alexis Morrast.

Per tradition the Coltrane Jazz Youth Workshop will open the festival. More information at https://coltranejazzfest.com/.
