S&A Communications – publisher of The North Carolina 100 – and the Seaboard Festival in downtown Hamlet both turn 35 this year. Traditionally held the last Saturday in October, this year’s event will take place Oct. 28 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The annual festival, created to celebrate Hamlet’s history as the “hub of the seaboard” for railroads, includes family-friendly activities such as crafts, kids’ events, food, entertainment, conductor’s call contest, antique car show and a 5K race.

The event is organized entirely by volunteers on behalf of Seaboard Festival Day, Inc., a nonprofit organization. For more information, visit seaboardfestival.com.
