The Carolina Philharmonic serenades the Sandhills

by Michael Polzella

The Carolina Philharmonic was founded in 2009 and has quickly grown into one of the most popular orchestras in the state. Its performances in the Owens Auditorium at Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst are known for their visceral, “concert-like” experiences.

Under the direction of Artistic Director and Principal Conductor David Michael Wolff, the orchestra performs a full season of shows and also sponsors a junior orchestra program that serves 100 local children.

Watch for these upcoming shows:

– Symphonic Masterworks: Beethoven’s Fifth and Schubert’s Unfinished Symphonies – Jan. 10

– A Night at the Opera – Feb. 7

– Walk on Broadway – March 17
