According to Statista.com, 57 percent of Americans said celebrating Thanksgiving is “very important” to them with another 27 percent indicating it is “rather important.”
The average American Thanksgiving feast for 10 people cost just over $49 last year. That meal included turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, corn, another seasonal vegetable, rolls, butter and pumpkin pie.
While people tended to enjoy their Thanksgiving meal at various times throughout the afternoon and evening of the fourth Thursday in November, 38 percent of respondents dined in the early afternoon, from around 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
