Beyond fireworks: North Carolina’s diverse July events lineup

by Sally Schroder

North Carolina offers an array of events this July, beyond Independence Day festivities.

Music and art lovers can immerse themselves in the An Appalachian Summer Festival in Boone, running through July 26, or enjoy the Highlands-Cashiers Chamber Music Festival, which extends into August.

The Festival for the Eno “Enofest” comes to Durham (July 4-5) and showcases music and arts, while the Ocean City Jazz Festival on North Topsail Beach (July 4-6) brings rhythm to the coast.

Cultural enthusiasts can also look forward to GalaxyCon Raleigh from July 24-27, a massive four day “festival of fandom” at the Raleigh Convention Center.
