School of the Arts Receives $10 Million Donation

by

An anonymous donor gave the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) a $10 million dollar donation. The gift is the most substantial the school has ever received from an individual donor.

The funds will support scholarships, faculty and several new endeavors including:

• Creating UNCSA’s Institute for Performance Innovation

• Creating a graduate animatronics program and graduate gaming and virtual reality program in the School of Filmmaking

Winston-Salem-based UNCSA is the country’s first public arts conservatory and a top-ranked performing arts conservatory. The School of Filmmaking ranks in the top 20 film schools in the country.
