The fourth running of my ‘last’ triathlon

“I’ll finish, but I don’t know when,” I told the race director of the Ramblin’ Rose Chapel Hill triathlon in 2014. “Feel free to pack everything up.”

But she didn’t. More than a hundred people stayed to cheer for me and my best friend, Julie, which became the most extraordinary experience of my life.

This October, we completed the course for the fourth time, a gift I couldn’t have imagined four years ago.

All women should give Ramblin’ Rose a try. Five laps swimming, nine-mile bike, and a two-mile run. If I can do it, you can too.
