After news broke that up to 87 million accounts on Facebook were compromised, exposing raw data on users, significant effects were felt.
According to Pew Research Center, just over half of Facebook’s users 18 and older (54 percent) say they have adjusted their privacy settings in the past 12 months. Approximately four in 10 (42 percent) say they have taken a break from checking their accounts for a period of several weeks, while a quarter (26 percent) say they’ve deleted the app from their cellphones.
