Lazy to the bone

by The 100 Companies

I am the first to admit that I have FOMO (fear of missing out). Even my friends predict when I turn down an invitation, the sure bet is I’ll change my mind. In her book, “Do Nothing: How to Break Away from Overworking, Overdoing, and Underliving,” Celeste Headlee submits that societal pressures make it difficult to do nothing.

Culture rewards productivity but condemns laziness. Yet, often the best ideas come during relaxed times. Semi-retired, I’m trying to embrace an empty calendar – not totally relinquishing focus, but making time to live my best life – even when it’s doing nothing at all.
