Greensboro Grasshoppers Unveil New Stadium Name

by Michael Polzella

The stadium of the Greensboro Grasshoppers, a Class A minor league baseball team in the South Atlantic League, will have a brand new name come opening day on April 6.

The downtown Greensboro ballpark that fans know well as the NewBridge Bank Park has unveiled its new name: First National Bank Field.

Last year, Yadkin Bank of Raleigh bought NewBridge Bank and held the naming rights to the stadium. When Pittsburgh’s F.N.B. Corporation decided to purchase Yadkin, it renamed the park after its largest subsidiary.
