Hope for the Homeless

by
Pullen Hope Center Volunteers

Homelessness may seem insurmountable, but The Hope Center at Pullen is making progress in getting and keeping young adults off the streets.

The Raleigh nonprofit, established to combat homelessness, saw that many clients used to be in foster care. They had never learned how to hold a job, open a bank account, or rent an apartment.

The Hope Center collaborates with government agencies, businesses and other nonprofits to coordinate needed support services. Through internships, counseling and life-skills training, these young people become productive and independent. In 2016, 72 percent of clients had stable housing and 66 percent had jobs.
