Hunter’s wish to ride

by Michael Polzella

Ten-year-old Hunter loves to play outside on his family’s large property in Clayton. He was also born with a skeletal malformation that has resulted in many surgeries. Still, he longed to bike around outside.

Hunter was granted a wish by Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina. After some research, the Make-A-Wish team found a company in Canada that makes custom hand-pedaled bikes. They had a bike made that would fit him through adulthood.

Since getting the bike, Hunter has been practicing and can’t wait to continue riding. Read more about Hunter on the chapter’s website.
