Our backyard trees, the shady parks in our neighborhoods, our tree-lined main streets, and the forests surrounding our towns are all part of North Carolina’s urban forest network. These trees are the answer to many pollution, flooding, health and economic issues.
The North Carolina Urban Forest Council’s goal is to plant 10,000 trees by 2020. Support from the Duke Energy Foundation and the North Carolina Forest Service’s Urban & Community Forestry Program provides some funds, but we need community help.
