At the end of every day, Black Mountain eatery Four Sisters Bakery always had leftover pastries that didn’t get sold. In the past, they would be put on a shelf, but the bakery’s front-of-house manager had a better idea.
June Pierce noticed that the pastries would be a perfect fit for an old-fashioned claw machine, so she set out to find one. After hauling a claw machine from Charlotte to Black Mountain, it now lives on Four Sisters Bakery’s porch, where it’s now known as Butter Boy. It’s just $1 to play and allows you to play until you win.
