Since 1913, Asheville’s Grove Park Inn has been a beloved mountain destination, with F. Scott Fitzgerald, Jennifer Lopez and Barack Obama among past celebrity guests.
Another famous, more permanent resident is the Pink Lady, who has roamed the property for almost 100 years. In the early 1920s, a woman in a pink gown fell from the indoor balcony outside room 545. Circumstances are unknown, but the most sinister rumor is that a man murdered her to keep their affair – and her pregnancy – a secret.
Those who’ve encountered the Pink Lady regard her as a kind, playful spirit who especially loves children.
