In addition to 16 riverside campsites, this regional trail hosts a myriad of native and migrating birds as well as a diverse variety of plant and animal wildlife. This region is the perfect destination for photographers and videographers, artists, writers, bird watchers, canoers/kayakers, campers, fisherman, hunters and other outdoor enthusiasts.
The Roanoke River Paddle Trail connects users to a host of other regional outdoor experiences like the Roanoke Canal Museum, Sylvan Heights Bird Park, and Moratoc Park, just to name a few.
