North Carolina ranked fifth in CNBC America’s Top States for Business 10th annual study. Sixty measures of competitiveness are taken into account, along with how each state’s economic development marketing materials showcase the metrics, to determine rankings.
Categories include workforce, cost of doing business, infrastructure, economy, quality of life, technology/innovation, education, business friendliness, cost of living, and access to capital. In addition to North Carolina’s overall ranking, our state ranked second in access to capital.
