I think about my dad every time I drive to my place near Linville Gorge. I have great memories of sitting on the deck taking in the views of Table Rock artistically framed by the trees.
Traveling up Highway 18/181 through Morganton, I pass what some call the best craft brewery in the state. Fonta Flora Brewery utilizes local artists to integrate seasonal flora into its beers.
The brewery creates a unique NC/Appalachian style of beer. Sourcing local grains, foraging the countryside for wild flora and developing partnerships are helping build F&F literally from the ground up.
