Bridgestone Americas will invest another $180 million in its Wilson passenger tire manufacturing plant, bringing the total investment to more than $340 million over the next ten years.
The plant is slated for an output increase of 3,000 tires per day with the expansion, bringing daily production to 35,000 tires by 2018. Wilson’s plant team has been repeatedly recognized for superb safety and operations. The facility is the first tire plant to earn ISO 50001 certification and reach Superior Energy Performance and Mature Pathway certifications.
Bridgestone is Wilson’s largest industrial employer, providing jobs to about 1,750 workers.
