Recently, North Carolina native Janice Bryant Howroyd, the first African-American woman to own and run a billion-dollar business, attributed part of her success to client advertisement. Her enterprise, Act 1 Group, is a workforce solutions company that began with just “a brain, a phone and a phonebook.”
Getting to where she is now required happy clients willing to promote her business. Howroyd stated, “You can have the best advertising, but unless someone else certifies what they are saying, you won’t last long.” Client feedback incorporated into advertising might be one of the keys to long-term business success.
