While flying cars have been the dream invention of the future, these three predictions might be somewhat more realistic:

• Connected car network: Autonomous vehicles are being adopted by consumers and could soon form a network, allowing them to communicate and adapt to changing traffic patterns.

• Predictive features: Similar to algorithms that suggest YouTube videos based on individual interests, cars could adapt technologies to adjust seating, temperature and other features.

• A battery-powered revolution: With big manufacturers like Ford and Volvo announcing plans for electric production, the presence of electric vehicles could rise to 25 percent in the next two decades.
