Professional Women’s Soccer Coming to North Carolina

by

The North Carolina Football Club (NCFC) announced earlier this week that it has reached an agreement with the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) to relocate the Western New York Flash to the Triangle area. Renamed the North Carolina Courage, the team is set to begin playing this April at Cary’s WakeMed Soccer Park.

“We are excited to be able to bring the highest level of professional women’s soccer back to the Triangle,” says NCFC’s owner, Steve Malik.

The NC Courage, led by New Zealand international Abby Erceg, will bring a championship atmosphere after winning the 2016 NWSL title in October.
