If you’re a Facebook user in North Carolina, there’s a chance you were one of the 2.5 million users impacted by the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
Even if you didn’t download the app that sold users’ data, one of your Facebook friends could have, granting the app access to your data as a “friend of an installer.” Only around 10,000 North Carolinians actually downloaded the app.
Public records showing correspondence between the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office and Facebook revealed NC had the ninth-most total impacted users. Top three impacted were California, Texas and Florida.
