Why National Breweries Open Shop in NC

by

In recent years, some of the largest US craft brewers opened breweries in North Carolina to serve Eastern US markets. And with 170 breweries, NC draws more than any southern state.

Oskar Blues started in 2012 with a brewery in Transylvania County. In 2015, Sierra Nevada opened a $110 million facility in Henderson County.

North Carolina is a strong supporter of food and beverage manufacturing. With data showing the South having the strongest growth potential for craft beer sales, NC is an ideal location for brewing operations of any size. Across the state, breweries employ more than 10,000 people.
