Orton Plantation Inspires

by

Orton Plantation, located on the Cape Fear River, just inspires. It always has.

The land inspired Roger Moore to build the first structure on the site in 1725, and then to rebuild the current plantation house when the first one was destroyed by Indians. It inspired Union troops to use it as a hospital rather than burn it. It inspired Frank Capra Jr. to use it in his 1983 movie Firestarter, which then inspired Dino De Laurentiis to build a film/television studio in nearby Wilmington for movie and TV production.

Orton Plantation. For nearly 300 years, it just inspires.
