When Andrea Lytle Peet was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in 2014 at age 33, she knew she didn’t have time to waste. ALS is a neurological disease that typically leads to death within two to five years.
Her priorities? Spending time with family, fundraising for ALS, and attempting another triathlon.
Andrea returned home to Raleigh and started a foundation that has raised $250,000 for ALS research. Incredibly, she has completed 27 marathons, half-marathons and triathlons on her recumbent trike.
