You don’t have to be a J.R.R. Tolkien fan to stay in this adorable Hobbit Knoll inspired by The Shire dwelling in “The Lord of the Rings” and other books.

The upscale 800-square-foot one-bedroom house has a bathroom, hardwood floors, refrigerator, sofa, gas fireplace and TV. The kitchen area has a table for four, microwave, refrigerator, electric cooktop along with a coffee maker and local snacks. About 90% of the home is underground.

Hobbit Knoll is part of the Treehouses of Serenity. See those and other treehouses near Asheville in our story, 12 Stunning and Unique Treehouses in Asheville.
