Bechtler Museum uses modern art to inspire

by
modern art

Although it’s only eight years old, the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art has developed a reputation for creative outreach like the Bechtler by Night open museum nights, jazz concerts, family days, films on modernism, and Inside/Out program that places works of art throughout the Charlotte community.

The heart of the museum is the Bechtler family’s collection of mid-century modern art, including pieces by Picasso, Miró, Warhol, Giacometti, Calder, Hepworth, Ernst and others.

Current exhibitions include paintings and prints from Alfred Manessier through Sept. 9, and “Wrestling the Angel,” featuring sacred art made by secular artists, through Oct. 28.
