Period Project NC fights to overcome stigmas and support North Carolina students

As Giving Tuesday – a day asking people to give support to those doing good – approaches on Nov. 28, we’re shining a spotlight on a nonprofit fighting to end period poverty and allow female students to reach their full potential.

With one in four girls in North Carolina being unable to afford menstrual hygiene products, Period Project NC has made it their mission to provide free products in schools throughout Wake County and start a meaningful dialogue.

The nonprofit was started by Wake County high school students Rose Rosaleen and Sarah Pazokian, who experienced the inaccessibility of menstrual hygiene products themselves.
