Upscale Casual Dining in a Historic Setting

by

Prior to the 1913 merger of the neighboring towns that make up Winston-Salem, the town of Salem held a rich history dating back to 1753 with the settlement of the Moravians.

Relive Salem’s history at NC’s oldest tavern, The Tavern in Old Salem. The 200-year-old restaurant was built in 1816 as an annex to the original 1784 Tavern. The family-run restaurant features plates inspired by the Moravians living in Salem in the 19th century, and the staff wears historic attire.

Enjoy cocktails, wine or beer at the bar, or make a reservation for lunch or dinner.
